Compatibility
Does SnoozyScoop®
work with your formula?
SnoozyScoop® is calibrated to 4.5g of formula powder per scoop position. Here’s exactly how that maps to the major UK brands — so you can feed with confidence.
How We Assess Compatibility
What “compatible” actually means.
SnoozyScoop® works by replacing the act of counting multiple scoops with one larger, pre-sized scoop. For this to be accurate, the weight of powder each brand’s scoop delivers per 30ml of water must be close enough to our 4.5g calibration.
We check scoop weight
Each formula brand publishes the weight of one level scoop (in grams) on their packaging and datasheets. We record this directly from manufacturer specifications.
We calculate variance
SnoozyScoop® is calibrated to 4.5g. We calculate the percentage difference between your brand’s scoop weight and our calibration to determine how closely they align.
We assign a status
Brands within ±5% are marked Compatible. Brands between ±5–10% are marked Check Your Tin. Brands outside ±10% are marked Not Recommended.
Why 4.5g?
Calibrated to the UK market majority.
The standard UK formula instruction is 1 level scoop per 30ml of water. Scoop weights across major brands cluster between 4.3g and 4.7g. At 4.5g, SnoozyScoop® sits at the midpoint of the most widely used brands.
At full calibration, the total powder variance for a 9oz bottle (9 scoops) between a 4.3g brand and SnoozyScoop® is approximately 1.8g — a difference so small it falls within the normal range of variation from an imperfect hand-level.

Always remember
Safety rules that never change.
SnoozyScoop® simplifies counting. But the fundamentals of safe formula preparation always apply — regardless of which scoop you use.
Always check your tin first
Confirm your brand’s scoop weight is on this compatibility list before use. If your brand isn’t listed, email us and we’ll add it.
A level scoop matters
SnoozyScoop® relies on a level, unpacked scoop — exactly as your formula manufacturer instructs. Heaping or pressing the powder will affect the dose.
- Fill to the rim without pressing down
- Level off with a flat edge or the back of a knife
- Never compact or shake the powder in
Water temperature still applies
The UK NHS recommends using water that has been boiled and cooled to no less than 70°C to kill any bacteria present in powdered formula. SnoozyScoop® doesn’t change this guidance.
Not for specialist formula
If your baby is on a prescribed, hydrolysed, anti-reflux, or any other specialist formula, do not use SnoozyScoop®. These products have specific preparation requirements and are used under medical guidance. Always follow your healthcare professional’s instructions.
FAQ
Compatibility questions, answered.
My brand isn’t on this list. Can I still use SnoozyScoop®?
If your brand isn’t listed, we’d rather you wait. Email us at hello@snoozyscoop.com with your brand and we’ll assess it and add it to the guide. Your baby’s safety comes first.
I use Aptamil but my tin says 4.5g, not 4.6g. Which is correct?
Aptamil has published scoop weights of 4.6g across their first infant milk range. If your tin states a different weight, go with what’s on your tin — that’s always the authoritative source. A difference of 0.1–0.2g is well within our compatible range.
Does the formula stage (Stage 1 vs Stage 2) affect compatibility?
This guide covers Stage 1 (first infant milk from birth) only. Stage 2 (follow-on formula) often has similar but not identical scoop weights. We will publish Stage 2 compatibility data separately before launch.
What if I accidentally use the wrong scoop size?
SnoozyScoop® is numbered to match your bottle size — Snoozy 6 for a 6oz bottle, for example. The number is clearly labelled. If you have any concern about a feed you’ve already prepared, the NHS advises discarding and starting fresh rather than guessing. If you have concerns about your baby’s health, contact your healthcare professional.
Will this guide change after launch?
Yes. We will review this guide whenever a brand updates their formulation or scoop weight. You’ll always find the most current version at this URL. We’ll note the review date at the bottom of the page.
What about supermarket own-brand formula beyond Mamia?
We’ve assessed Aldi Mamia. We’re working on Sainsbury’s Little Ones, Tesco own-brand, and others. These will be added before our launch date. If you use a supermarket own-brand not listed, please email us.
